Do yourself a favor and avoid this place!! The vet is manipulative and will use an owner's love of their pet to convince them to pay for things they don't need. I went in to get my cat some medication to help his congestion and she told me MULTIPLE times that, if I don't immediately pay for a very expensive test, "my cat will drop dead out of nowhere". There is no way this is appropriate language to use with patients! She then felt the need to patronize me for wanting to ask my dad first for help deciding what to do. Before that very appointment I also witnessed an owner being charged for a test that he specifically said he refused but you can't exactly undo it so they took his money. It's so painfully clear she doesn't care about the animals during the check ups as well. She moves the animal with no regard to their well being and makes NO EFFORT to comfort the animal or reward them for being good, plus my cat was literally leaving sweaty footprints on the counter and they still didn't turn on their fan. I'm mostly just really disappointed in humanity that there are people like her that use the immense love for someone's pet against them. The assistants I've had were always very nice and respectful though! One even told me that the vet is going to suggest tests that aren't necessary and I can refuse if it's too expensive. They are too good to be working under the head vet.

I love Colony Animal Hospital . I’ve taken all 4 of my dogs there for vaccinations and check ups. Dr Carleton is very honest and straight forward with any concerns you may have with your pet. Also very gentle with them. The vet tech team is awesome, very polite and personable. Highly recommend this veterinary clinic.

If i can give 0 stars id give under that! Well to set the scene... I've been going to this vet faithfully for about 5 years. I've had my dog seen by them numerous times. Every time I had any contact with the vet, she was bland. Unemotional and has absolutely no bedside manner. There is little to no communication and I leave half of the time not really understanding. I stayed bc this has been my pups vet from day 1 n the vet techs were so wonderful with my boy. I really thought they cared for him as much as I did... Last October my pup got diagnosed with an illness that he is going to have to live with for the rest of his life. 😪 However, it is manageable, but scary just the same. We r trying to figure out the exact medicine he needs everyday n trying to regulate it. Its imperative that we do. Its been almost a year n still do not have the right dosage. He was having spells more frequently and I started to get nervous about not having enough meds or food. I asked the vet to write me a script so I could get the things I needed for my dog to stay alive. What am i supposed to do if i run out on the weekend and they arent open until Monday? Vet tech flat out said, "i dont think she does that. Let me ask." She came back with, she said what do u need? Ill get it for u. I said a bigger bag of food. Id like to have a script incase im out of town. She again said let me ask. The vet came out and started telling me she can get me whatever I wanted and what do I need? If she wrote a script we couldn't use it out of town. I repeatedly told her that I just wanted the scripts. At this time, a dog got loose and commotion started, so I just left. The next day I called for them again n it was, she said she'd get what u wanted. I asked her to have the vet call me. I waited and nothing, so I called the next day for my records. I was put on hold. I was talked too like I was suing the place. The vet techs snubbed thier noses at me when i came back in, and I have not spoken to his vet since the first occurrence. I picked up my records n she FINALLY wrote me my scripts. Im reading thru his records n see 4 days ago she wrote, "the patient needs to go to 6 units. I tried to tell the patient, but he left to quick." Are u serious??!?!?!? Its a major change in his meds n u dont think to make a phone call, bc i asked for a script???? Im going to get a 2nd opinion n u completely drop the care for my dog? U are still his vet!!!!! The moral to my story is they only care about how much money ur spending. They're as fake as they come n do not care for ur animals. Its hard to tell what she does to our babies when they go out of the room. Read some of the other comments... I do not recommend this place to anyone. Price is decent, but remember u get what you pay for.😉
